A public lecture of the Queen’s Counsel, managing partner of Global Rights Compliance Wayne Jordash “International Justice and Victims Dichotomy” was held on February 17, 2017 at the Ukrainian Catholic University within the UCU Rule of Law Lecture Series.
During the lecture, Wayne Jordash considered the problem of dissonance between how the victims are perceived and represented by stakeholders in the international system of justice and stereotypes, marginalization and weakness, which are so often seen in the practice of modern international trials. He also gave his own vision of the place of victims in the international criminal justice and stressed on the need of its improval in order to conform to the needs of victims.
At the end of the lecture, there was a discussion in which the guests took active participation.
This is the twelfth event, held within the UCU Rule of Law Lecture Series – a series of lectures, devoted to the topical issues of the rule of law and the legal sphere, which is organized by the UCU Rule of Law Center together with the USAID Justice Sector Reform Program “Nove Pravosuddya” and in cooperation with the Department of the UBA Ukraine in Lviv region.
