The purpose of the Rule of Law Center (RLC) of the Ukrainian Catholic University is an educational and research activities in the fields of law and human rights. Using a wide range of relationships with domestic and foreign universities, research and advocacy organizations, we are looking forward to establish a broad network of institutional cooperation on issues of the rule of law and human rights.
Objectives of the RLC:
- To conduct scholarly research on issues of the rule of law and human rights protection;
- To develop training programs and courses aimed at training highly qualified specialists in human rights protection;
- To promote and disseminate contemporary theoretical and practical knowledge on the rule of law, legality, human rights protection, etc.;
- To conduct scholarly studies of the role of the rule of law and human rights protection as it is exposed in the social teaching of the Catholic Church;
- To develop a scientific basis for a deeper study of problems of the rule of law and human rights protection in modern conditions;
- To provide legal advice and to implement practical projects in securing the rule of law and human rights protection.
Candidate of Law, obtained a Master Degree in International Relation at the Ivan Franko National Univeristy of Lviv, passed an internaship at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. Ivan was a Ph.D. Student of the International Law Department of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, is a founder and a former chief (2013-2014) of the Lviv Centre for International Law and Human Rights and a lawyer of the Association “Lviv Cluster IT-BPO”. Participant and a speaker at more than 10 international conferences devoted to the contemporary issues of law and human rights, security and international relations. Areas of scientific interest – human rights, international law, personal data protection. Member of the International Association of the Artificial Intelligence and Law, Ukrainian Bar Association and the Ukrainian Association of International Law.
Lecturer at the Department of the Medical Law of the Danylo Halytskyi National University of Lviv, Ph.D. Student at the International Law Department, Faculty of International Relations, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. 2011 – Master Degree in International Law, translation studies; 2013 – Specialist Degree in Law at the Lviv University. Teaching experience at the Faculty of International Relations of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. 2014-2015 – PhD studies in International Law at Vilnius University, Lithuania (non-degree studies). Internships and work experience: Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Membership: Council of Young Scientists at the Faculty of International Relations of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Education: Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, faculty of international relations (2009 – honors master’s degree (qualification – political scientist in international relations, translator); 2013 – postgraduate studies (specialization – political problems of international systems and global development).Participant of many national and international conferences, summer schools, trainings, internships, author of scientific publications. Active member of different NGOs: student NGO “Young diplomacy”, “Council of young scientists of faculty of international relations”, “Ukrainian branch of international association for political science students”. Now leading expert of “Lviv centre for international law and human rights”. Experience of teaching practice on the faculty of international relations of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Internship in Ukraine’s MFA representative in Lviv and Department of public partnership of Lviv City Council. From August 2013 – Project manager of the Development department of the Ukrainian Catholic University. From October 2014 – Project manager of the Rule of law Center of the Ukrainian Catholic University (part-time). Interests: international relations and world politics, international law and human rights, European security, world history.
Obtained Master of Laws degree at the Law Faculty of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (2015). In May 2015, as the EUNEG program participant she conducted study visits to the Universities of Maribor (Slovenia) and Trieste (Italy). Iryna participated in the XIV International Students’ and Advanced Students’ Scientific Law Conference “Actual Problems of Human Rights, the State, and Legal System.” Also, she successfully graduated from the School of German Law in 2015.
Interests: criminology, international criminal law, common defence policy of EU member states.
